A century ago, John H.Dunnachie filmed a number of key landmarks in and around Newark.

The sights in this short film include Hudson Terminal (or Penn Station), a pan over the city, Branch Brook Park, downtown street scenes, Centre Market, Broad & Market streets, downtown intersection, Springfield Avenue and Market Street, City Hall, Weequahic Park and Port Newark.

Newark in the 1940s

The 1940s film footage of Newark was filmed from a train.

Colorization and sounds was added for this YouTube video in 2021, made only for the ambiance and it does not represent real historical data.

The frames per second was also altered for a more sedate pace than the original film.
